The Elim Pentecostal Church was founded in 1915 by a Welshman in Monaghan Ireland. George Jeffreys was an outstanding evangelist and church planter. He had a Welsh Congregational background, was strongly influenced by the Welsh Revival of 1904, and was introduced to Pentecost by an Anglican vicar, Rev Alexander Boddy of Sunderland.

Between 1915 and 1934, George Jeffreys conducted some tremendous evangelistic missions. This unknown preacher would commence a mission with a mere handful of people, and by the end of the week, thousands would clamor for a seat. Amazing miracles of healing had taken place. After the mission, very large churches were established.

We are one of those churches having been present in Southport now for 85 years.

In May 2010, we relocated to our current premises overlooking the Marine Lake which houses many of our activities although our vision remains to continue to reach out into our town. We are a friendly church of over 300 people with a heart to care, love and protect all those who come our way. The church has a variety of activities for all age ranges, no matter what your background or walk in life. We want to see you flourish and join with us in leading others into life.

Whether you live in Southport or are just visiting the area, you are always very welcome!
