Alcoholics Anonymous (or AA) is a fellowship of men and women who share their experiences, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. We help each other to achieve and maintain sobriety by sharing experiences and giving mutual support. Members are helped to achieve sobriety by staying away from one drink one day at a time. Group meetings help to maintain this and each member follows a programme of Twelve Steps to recovery. Being honest with yourself amongst members is fundamental.Local groups are within regions, which is North West and local groups appear under the Liverpool City Intergroup which covers the Merseyside area.
